Dabei handelt es sich aber nicht um ein normales Sideshow-Promo-Video, sondern um eine neue Folge auf Adam Savage’s Tested-YouTube-Kanal.

Darin wird nicht nur ein detaillierter Live-Blick auf die Neuankündigung geworfen, sondern auch der Entstehungsprozess dahinter beleuchtet.

Originalbeitrag vom 04.05.2025: Pünktlich zum diesjährigen May the 4th hat Sideshow eine neue Premium Format Figur vorgestellt, die besonders Sammler und Sammlerinnen der Originaltrilogie aufhorchen lässt. Die neue „Luke Skywalker & X-Wing: Red Five, Standing By“-Statue kombiniert eine detailreiche Darstellung des jungen Rebellenpiloten mit einem aufwendig gestalteten Ausschnitt seines ikonischen T-65B X-Wings – direkt aus dem Hangar der Yavin-Basis.

Die Neuheit misst beeindruckende 76 Zentimeter in der Höhe und zeigt Luke Skywalker in kompletter Pilotenmontur, während er die rote Einstiegstreppe zum Cockpit erklimmt. Unter dem Arm trägt er seinen Helm und Handschuhe, bereit für die entscheidende Mission gegen den Todesstern. Als Basis dient ein Diorama-Element mit strukturiertem Metall- und Steinboden, ergänzt durch zwei separat platzierbare und batteriebetriebene Lichtmodule zur Ausleuchtung des Hangars.

Besonders auffällig ist das aufwendig gestaltete Cockpitsegment mit authentischen Details wie Zielcomputer, Bedienelementen und Cockpit-Scheibe. Die Kanzel ist sogar beweglich und kann je nach Wunsch offen oder geschlossen dargestellt werden. Die gesamte Konstruktion wird durch eine verstärkte Metallstange im Inneren stabilisiert – ein echter Blickfang in jeder Vitrine.

Das Outfit besteht aus gemischten Materialien: Ein maßgeschneiderter orangener Fluganzug mit weißen und grauen Applikationen trifft auf fest modellierte Details wie Kontrollpaneele und Notfallsender. Insgesamt kombiniert diese Statue textile und plastische Elemente auf höchstem Niveau, ganz im Stil der Sideshow Premium Format Reihe.

Measuring 30 inches (76 cm) tall, 21 inches (54 cm) wide, and 17 inches (43 cm) deep, the Luke Skywalker™ & X-Wing: Red Five, Standing By Premium Format™ Figure features this rookie flyer in his Rebel flight suit. Almost ready to take off, Luke Skywalker ascends a ladder within the Yavin Base hangar which leads to his X-wing cockpit, with his helmet and gloves held securely under his arm. Soon, he will join his closest allies in an epic and unprecedented attack against the Empire’s Death Star Battle Station. For now, this hero keeps one foot on the ground and his eyes turned upward towards a galaxy far, far away.

This mixed media Luke Skywalker collectible comes with a realistic portrait inspired by the character’s on-screen appearance in the Star Wars original trilogy. Luke Skywalker wears an intricately styled, fully tailored orange fabric jumpsuit with a white vest, a gray flight harness and belts, and black boots. The flight uniform itself has several stow pockets as well as sculpted flares and control panels for the suit’s various functions and systems such as the emergency transmitter. This Star Wars statue’s base resembles structural metal and stone flooring underneath a red boarding ladder. Collectors can enhance their display with two light-up hangar bay landing lights, freestanding proximity pieces which illuminate the landing bay when this young pilot embarks on a daring mission and journey of a lifetime among the stars.

The Luke Skywalker™ & X-Wing: Red Five, Standing By Premium Format™ Figure also features a fully sculpted section of Luke’s T-65B model starfighter attached to the ladder and robust black fuel tubing. No detail has been spared in recreating this section of the ship’s complex armored interior, which starts at the vessel’s nose and includes a portion of the seat, targeting computer, and flight control panels. Reminiscent of the very first X-wing designs in Star Wars, the clear cockpit window can be positioned either raised or down in order to create your ideal display. With this cockpit feature fully extended the statue measures up to 30″ tall. A reinforced internal metal rod supports the entire ship structure — from the interior of the base to the hull — in an incredible, gravity-defying feat.
