In the summer of 1980, The Empire Strikes Back introduced us to one of modern cinemas most recognizable characters, Boba Fett. A man of few words, the gritty bounty hunter quickly made his mark despite having roughly 3 minutes of screen time in his debut film. The character had long been teased by Lucasfilm as far back as 1978, appearing in animated form and as a costumed character in parades and special events across the country.

It was a filmed screen test in early 1978 where we saw an early prototype of Fett that featured sleek all white armor over an off-white jump suit. This costume was rumored to be a “Super Stormtrooper” design that saw the character designed to be a kind of elite, special forces Imperial Trooper, better trained and equipped than regular foot soldiers. In the end, this concept was abandoned and Fett became the rogue bounty hunter we all know today.

„Neues SDCC 2015 Star Wars Exclusive von Gentle Giant

Um Hersteller Gentle Giant war es in den letzten Monaten ziemlich ruhig, wenn es um Star Wars Collectibles ging. Aber wie bei allen anderen großen Herstellern ändert sich das natürlich schlagartig, wenn die alljährliche San Diego Comic Con ansteht. Innerhalb von 19 Tagen veröffentlichte Gentle Giant vor wenigen Minuten nun schon das dritte Star Wars Collectible, das exklusiv zur SDCC 2015 erscheinen wird. Nach R2-D2 und Boba Fett aus der Animationsserie „Star Wars: Droids“ als Jumbo Vintage Actionfigures kommt nun aber endlich mal wieder eine exklusive Büste.

Die Rede ist von einer stark limitierten „Boba Fett Prototype Mini Bust“, welche den berühmtesten Kopfgeldjäger der Galaxie in seiner Prototyp-Rüstung aus dem Jahr 1978 zeigt. Die Büste hat einen Maßstab von 1:6, wird auf 750 Exemplare limitiert und nur direkt auf der SDCC 2015 erhältlich sein.

Alle Premier Guild Mitglieder haben unabhängig vom Besuch der Comic-Messe in San Diego jedoch die Möglichkeit, die Figur ab sofort vorzubestellen. Irreführend ist nur, dass nirgendwo ein Preis angegeben ist. Sollte jemand von Euch Mitglied der Premier Guild sein, würden wir uns über eine kurze Nachricht oder einen Kommentar mit dem Preis freuen. (UPDATE: Die Boba Büste kann für 120,00 US-Dollar vorbestellt werden.)“
